I would  like to welcome you to the French program at Ballston Spa High School.  The following rules and policies are designed to help you (or your student ) to be successful in French.  Please take the time to familiarize yourself with these rules. Merci!

Les Règles de la Classe

1.     SOYEZ A L'HEURE:  Be in your seat when the bell rings working on the bellringer activity.

2.     SOYEZ PREPARE:  All students must have the following items every day:  textbook, pen, 3-ring binder with either loose leaf paper or a 3 subject notebook .

3.     LES DEVOIRS:  Students will be assigned homework every class. Some assignments will be collected and graded individually.  Others will be corrected in class.  Homework counts towards the quarterly average.  A zero is given for assignments not done or incomplete assignments.  A zero cannot be made up.

4.     LES EXAMENS:  There will be lesson quizzes and tests.  They will include components on listening, reading, writing and speaking.

5.     LES ABSENCES:  When you are absent, it is the student's responsibility to get the work missed (both classwork and homework).

  1. Choose a responsible partner from this class.  Exchange numbers and call to find out what was missed.  Partners will get worksheets etc. for his/her absent partner.
  2. All assignments must be made up in a timely fashion.  Work is due the day you return from being absent one day and within 2 days for extended absences.
  3. If absent the day of a quiz or test, you will make it up immediately upon returning.  If you are absent for several classes, then you must see me to make up the test; failure to do so will result in a zero.

6.  LA VIE EN CLASSE:

  1. Parlez français!
  2. Soyez respectueux:  respect your classmates, teachers, and school property.  Ask before taking, and if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
  3. Soyez responsible: you are responsible for your acts, and therefore will face all consequences for them.
  4. Soyez de ressource: use all your resources for assignments and projects (books, dictionaries, friends, teachers, and library…).

Je vous souhaite tous une très bonne année scolaire.  Etudiez beaucoup, travaillez dur, et amusez-vous un peu.
